    full-time Dietary Assistant to join our Culinary Team!

    The Opportunity:

    Dietary Assistant / Full-Time

    Work Hours: 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for providing quality food service to residents, guests and employees under sanitary conditions and for providing assistance in all dietary functions as directed in accordance with established dietary policies and procedures.

    Food Preparation – Main Kitchen

    Prep work including, washing, peeling, cutting and seeding vegetables and fruits along with weighing and measuring designated ingredients.

    Transports pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stoves and refrigerator while maintaining all safety standards.

    Utilizes approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control.

    Food Preparation and Service – Household & IL/AL

    Ensure that the dining room/area is properly set-up prior to and after for meal service period. This includes table setting per established procedures, placement of salads, desserts and beverages.

    Keeping condiments stocked, (salt, pepper, sugar, jelly, sauces, etc.) Setting up food trays and carts for tray service including wrapping salads and desserts.

    Preparation and serving of coffee, tea and other beverages at mealtime in an efficient manner.

    Buses tables when vacated; cleans each table thoroughly; cleans table tops; replaces tablecloth if soiled; wipes salt & pepper shakers; refills sugar and creamer and clears them from tables between meals; picks up dropped trash or food.

    Keeps dining area neat and clean at all times, sweep/vacuum floor after meals and as needed.

    Cleaning and polishing chairs and table bases.

    Cleaning of windows, doors, walls, when spills occur and condiment table.

    Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils.

    Cleaning coffee areas and keeping them neat and stocked at all times

    Removal of trash to dumpster after evening meal.

    Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment.

    Helps in the dishwashing area.

    Work alongside staff of other departments in performing job duties and for any special events or functions.

    Deliver food promptly and professionally following the established steps of service while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards.

    Demonstrates a complete understanding of all menu items and ingredients. As requested, advise residents and guest on appropriate combinations of food and drinks, accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences.

    Promptly address and correct any complaints or issues. Relay relevant information or complaints directly to supervisor.

    Refer all allergen and gluten questions to manager.

    Maintain a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding any personal or medical information that is shared.

    Maintain temperature /Titration Logs including quaternary chlorine.

    Maintain floor stock inventory and requisition sheets.

    Other related projects, duties and responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary.

    QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

    High school or GED equivalent preferred; or 1-6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Completion of Serve Safe course

    Must be a people-oriented individual, have good communication skills, and the ability to work with a diverse group of people.

    Must be able to work overtime as required.

    Computer skills appropriate to job tasks

    Organizational and time-management skills

    Ability to read, speak, write, and follow oral and written instructions

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    Must be able to perform in a high-traffic, high-energy environment.

    Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds; pull, push up to 90 pounds.

    Finger and hand dexterity to operate small equipment and perform job tasks.

    Significant stooping, bending, standing, walking

    Works in warm, humid environment with exposure to sudden temperature changes when entering the freezer or walk-in
