    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    Data Engineers develop modern data architecture approaches to meet key business objectives and provide end-to-end data solutions. Data Engineers will work closely with businesses, clients, data analysts, and platform teams on a specific domain initiative. Data Engineers help to understand the potential that data brings to solve business domain issues and their most pressing problems. Data Engineer might be acting as the architect, leading the design of technical solutions, or perhaps overseeing a program inception to build a new product. It could also be a software delivery project where Data Engineer will be coding and tech-leading the team to implement the solution.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Take the needs and challenges of business and formulate the technical roadmap and technology solution that will support their business strategies and goals.
    • Quickly gain an understanding of the landscape of tools, business domain, and data frameworks so as to recommend next steps, approaches (such as building data marts, views, batch, workflows, etc.)
    • Collaborate with other Data Engineers and Data Analysts anchors in the org to learn and share best practices and techniques
    • Drive on engineering and architectural practices and standards required for data quality
    • Be an inspiration for technical ability and innovation to the team
    • Become a trusted and valued partner of the business leaders, product owners, and team
    • Code! Build systems and automate data flow
    • Deep understanding of data modeling and experience with data engineering tools and platforms such as Pipelines, SQL, etc. Curiosity on new technology like Kafka, Spark, and Hadoop is a plus
    • Built large-scale data pipelines and data-centric applications
    • Ability to tackle challenges of persisting, working with, and exposing metadata from data engineering processes
    • It is a plus to have hands-on experience building Data Engineering tooling with the Microsoft Azure or AWS Data Engineering and Analytics stacks including ADLS, Azure Synapse Analytics, Polybase, ADF, Azure Event Hub, Azure Databricks, Active Directory, and PowerBI
    • Interested in modern event streaming tooling
    • Understanding of when streaming vs. batch processing is appropriate, and tradeoffs in a given context
    • Comfortable applying data security strategy to solve business problems

    EDUCATION & OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor’s Degree required. Computer science preferred.
    • 2-5 years of data engineering.
    • Willingness/ability to work late hours when faced with tight deadlines.
