    The Goddard School® of Ashburn at Belmont Greene (off Belmont Ridge Road -near Stone Bridge High School), Virginia, is seeking an experienced LEAD PRE-KINDERGARTEN TEACHER. The Goddard School is a LICENSED, ACCREDITED PRESCHOOL, teaching children as young as six weeks through kindergarten, with after-school programs for elementary school students.     Job Description: The Lead Teacher is responsible for the care and education of a group of children, working at times with an Assistant Teacher. The Lead Teacher designs and implements lesson plans, and manages the students as they learn, eat, sleep, and play. Lead Teachers are responsible for keeping their classroom organized and clean and are expected to communicate with parents in person and in writing. All teachers work full time, year-round, with paid days off both, personal and vacation. Lead Teachers are responsible for ensuring compliance with Goddard's industry-leading Quality Assurance standards. Lead Teachers write and implement their own lesson plans based on Goddard Developmental Guidelines and monthly school themes. Most importantly, they create a positive learning environment in their classroom where children develop a lifelong love of learning!

    QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION:

    The successful candidate must have a BA in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or related.

    BACHELOR'S DEGREES (OR HIGHER DEGREES) FROM NON-US UNIVERSITIES MUST BE EQUIVALENCED AND CERTIFIED TO MEET THIS REQUIREMENT.

    EXPERIENCE:

    The successful candidate must also have all of the following:

    • At least one year experience working with young children in a school setting is required; two years desirable.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices
    • Mastery of the English language, as spoken and written, to permit effective communication with parents
