    The Kitchen Team Member at The Goddard School is primarily responsible for food management at the center. The candidate must have good attention to detail and strong organizational skills. We have a food warming kitchen, so primarily it is mostly prepping. The Kitchen Team Member will also be acting as support staff at the Goddard School, who is responsible for any support tasks delegated by the management of the school.

    We are looking for a full time Kitchen Team Member to join our team!

    Responsibilities of a Kitchen Team Member include:

    · The ability to prep and portion food, handle and serve food, in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations.

    · The ability to understand and comply with the policies relating to food service and employment policies.

    · The ability to communicate effectively with school personnel, children, and parents.

    · Ability to plan and organize meals for various classrooms, including for children with dietary and medical restrictions.

    · Dating food stored and discarding food after recommended storage protocols.

    · Delivering food on time to all classrooms

    · Inventory Management for items used in kitchen, classrooms and common area

    · The ability to handle crisis situations, including assisting in evacuating the building during emergencies · May need to be in classroom during breaks and assisting teachers

    Qualifications

    Food Handler certificate

    All employees will undergo a DCFS background check and will need a physical

    Must have CPR certification

    A current City of Chicago Food Service Manager Certificate (preferred)
