This position is responsible for supporting teachers in all classrooms to ensure a safe, healthy, engaging and nurturing learning environment for children in all classes – infants through pre-kindergarten. The Resource Assistant Teacher should be capable of connecting with children of all ages (2 months to 5 years) and supporting different teachers in all classrooms. Also, the Assistant Resource Teacher may have some limited office work to support the school. She/He is an integral member of our school community and therefore should enjoy working with young children (ages 2 months to 6 years), building relationships with parents and engaging with the faculty, and having a different schedule every day. Employee should be proactive, energetic, and calm under pressure.

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

· Build strong, positive, trustworthy relationships with all stakeholders (children, faculty, parents and administration).

· Embody and support the school’s mission and make it central to all decisions and actions.

Assist Lead Teacher with all aspects of classroom management which may include: circle time activities, small group projects, playground supervision, diaper changing, potty training, snack time, classroom clean up – for all ages 2 months to 6 years.

Cover teacher lunches and bathroom breaks, supporting in class planning coverage and substituting in classrooms, as needed.

· Welcome families, escort students to and from classrooms.

Perform clerical duties, take memos, maintain files, and organize documents; photocopy, fax, etc., as needed.

Receive, store, organize school deliveries.

· Answer phone inquiries, direct calls, take messages, and provide basic company information.

· Call parents for items needed at school.

Speak in the target language to children all day (English, Spanish or Mandarin)

Other duties as assigned.

This Goddard School is a trilingual preschool which teaches English, Spanish, and Mandarin in a Reggio-Emilia style approach from birth through Pre-K.
