    The Grand Event Center is currently looking to add a Full-Time Event Cook to join our culinary team.  The Grand Event Center is a unique event space where we do everything from large weddings and corporate meetings to intimate wine dinners and social gatherings.  We have high standards and big ideas when it comes to food so creativity and attention to detail are crucial.

    We pride ourselves on training Chefs to learn all areas of our kitchen operation. If you have a desire to cook great food from scratch, work with fresh seasonal products, and create an exceptional guest experience please contact us about this position. Candidates must have availability evenings, weekends, and holidays. Hotel or banquet experience is a plus but not necessary.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Prepares food according to Chef’s recipes and instruction.
    • Cold Food and Hot Food Preparations
    • Cleans and sanitizes the kitchen.
    • Assists in other areas of the kitchen as needed.
    • Maintains the walk-in coolers for organization and freshness.
    • Adheres to state and local health and safety regulations.
    • Maintains the highest sanitary standards.
    • Maintains safety and security in work station.
    • Maintains a high level of professionalism, and stands as a mentor to other cooks and stewards.
    • Long hours sometimes required.
    • Convey information and ideas clearly.
    • Maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
    • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
    • Listen to, understand and clarify concerns and issues raised by team members and guests.

     PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    These physical demands represent the physical requirements necessary for an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. Reasonable accommodation can be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the described essential functions of the position

    • Medium work-exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and /or 80 pounds of force frequently.
    • Constantly lift, carry, bend, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
    • Ability to stand for long hours at the time.

    Required Experience

    •High School Diploma.

    •1+ year experience in an upscale kitchen.

    •Culinary school preferred but not necessary

    •ServSafe Certified a plus

      

     

    Salary

    $15.00 - $17.00 per hour PLUS GRATUITY FROM EVENTS
