    Job Description

    Company Mission: The Grateful Garment Project provides victims of sexual violence the clothing and other resources they need to reclaim their dignity and begin the healing process.   We work with hospitals, shelters, law enforcement, and other nonprofits to meet victims’ immediate needs after a crisis, and support their ongoing needs along their road to recovery.

    Job Description: The Grateful Garment Project is seeking interns to join the development team and help us continue our mission of restoring dignity to survivors of sexual violence.  Our Development Intern is responsible for a range of tasks that further the outreach, strategic partnerships, and development goals of the organization. Depending on the need and interests of the intern, the role is flexible to empower and develop their skills. Individuals with interests in nonprofit administration, development, and/or community organizing are encouraged to apply. There are opportunities to gain experience in social media marketing, content creation, and business development. This is a remote position for college students. 

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist Development staff in organizing day-to-day communications with individual, foundation, and corporate donors

    • Maintain donor records in our database

    • Support proposal writing efforts and research new opportunities for funding

    • Assist in event planning and coordination

    • Assist in the expansion of our volunteer programs

    Requirements:

    • Strong writing, research, analytical and organizational skills

    • Strong interest in nonprofit administration, fundraising and/or community organizing

    • Demonstrated interest in nonprofits and/or combating issues like sexual violence

    • Proficient in Google Suite, including docs, sheets, etc.

    • Strong interpersonal skills, and a team-player attitude

    • A commitment of 10 hours a week

    • Applicants will need access to their own computer. 

    • The internship will run for 12 weeks long with opportunities to extend.

    This is an unpaid, part-time position with flexible hours per week. This internship is designed to provide students the skills and experiences they need to become effective nonprofit leaders in the near future. TGGP staff will work with the student and university to ensure college credit is given for the internship if applicable. At the beginning of the internship, clear goals will be outlined to coincide with student’s needs regarding content for their portfolios and course work. This is a remote position.
