Job Description
This position requires an understanding of landscape installation and construction methods, along with basic knowledge of Northeast/Mid-Atlantic plant material and best horticultural practices. In addition, sales person must have the ability to:
Work with clients from initial meeting through design proposal and project installation
Build strong relationships with subcontractors and customers while projecting a professional image and positive attitude.
Create/estimate presentable and scalable plans for landscape design.
Create effective client presentations for proposal and design.
Estimate costs, calculate and compile take-offs.
Prepare detailed construction drawings and landscape plans.
Prepare site and design plans and other documents.
Manage multiple projects from initial consultation through design, proposal and installation.
Communicate design needs with engineering.
Provide design and material alternatives to meet client objectives/budget.
Together with production they will:
o Manage permitting process related to landscape/hardscape construction
o Perform sites visits during construction and review field changes
Job Requirements
Qualified candidate should have a minimum of 2-5 years sales/design experience, portfolio of past work is a plus.
Strong knowledge of various hardscape materials, design and installation, including but not limited to: Retaining Walls, Outdoor Living Areas, Drainage Solutions, Water Features and Outdoor Lighting.
Must be able to manage/attend trade shows and other networking opportunities.
Strong customer service skills to include working a flexible schedule which includes weekend and evening hours.
Basic Computer skills and general clerical skills.
MHIC Salesperson License after 90 days
Develop complete proposal from existing plans and specifications to proposal submission.
Must be able to analyze plans, specifications, make site visits and complete thorough take-offs.
Ability to think in a creative, innovative, and practical way.
Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, to a wide variety of individuals.
Knowledge of specification, contracts, and performance standards within landscape operations
Landscape conservation experience related to smart irrigation and native plant design schemes is a plus.
Must have a valid driver’s license and able to pass a background check

Thorough knowledge of construction drawings and related documentation
Demonstrated strong work ethic and ability to work independently
Well organized and can work within deadlines
Ability to communicate and sell your skills, experience and designs
