JOB SUMMARY:
The irrigation technician's responsibilities will include start-up and winterization of all irrigation systems. Primary duties include repair and maintenance of irrigation lines and equipment, monitoring and tracking on-hand materials, supporting ordering materials, act as subject matter expert to overall teams. Will work individually or on a team. Other duties may include typical landscaping work accompanying irrigation systems - digging, planting; laying sod, stone and mulch; burying cables, pipes, irrigation lines; pruning and sawing trees and brushes; and other seasonal yard and grounds work (mowing, weed eating, blowing, clean-up). In the winter, preventative and post services for snow and ice events may also be included. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
About 40-60% focus on Irrigation service work.
Other typical yard & lawn maintenance including operating equipment, power tools, and hand tools.
Assist in inventory control of parts, supplies and equipment
Support general equipment maintenance and preventative maintenance for equipment.
Supports Supervisor and team on the assigned tasks, perform assignments, completes checklist. Ability to train/ show others to support irrigation systems.
Assures a safety-first attitude which includes all facility safety work instructions and maintenance
Exhibits mutual trust and respect towards colleagues, peers and customers and awareness of our collective social responsibilities.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education - minimal High School diploma or GED.
At least one year experience in installation and maintenance of irrigation systems; design experience a plus
Good communication skills with customers and internal coworkers. Previous leadership experience a plus
Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and evenings as needed
Must be able to write, read and comprehend written and verbal job instructions/information.Ability to measure and perform basic math skills.
Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently with little to moderate supervision.
Current and unrestricted Driver's license with a clean record; Reliable transportation to and from the startup location.
General knowledge of health, safety, and environmental requirements.
