Job Description

We are a graphics department within a TV/Film prop house. Due to the unique nature of our business, interested candidates should first take a look at https://hpr.com/graphics-about/ to familiarize themselves with the nature of our work.

The production artist will assist the design team in the fabrication of graphic props. Typical duties include file set-up and manipulation, as well as laser, wide format and vinyl printing (Gerber thermal foil and Mimaki solvent inkjet) and maintaining our stock inventory. Candidate must be at an expert level in Illustrator and Photoshop, and should posses a solid knowledge of printing processes, excellent written/verbal communication skills, keen attention to detail and troubleshooting skills. A graphic design background, familiarity with traditional layout and typography are strong pluses. Candidate should feel comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and multi-tasking.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Expert knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop

• 2 years professional experience

• Familiarity with traditional graphic design and printing

Experience in art departments within the film/tv industry, familiarity with silkscreening and vinyl printing skills are strong pluses, but not required. On-the-job training will be provided.

This position is ideal for anyone who wishes to apply an interest in graphic design to a unique and highly specialized field. WHILE A GRAPHIC DESIGN BACKGROUND IS A STRONG PLUS, IT IS IMPORTANT TO CONSIDER THAT THIS IS PRIMARILY A PRINT/PRODUCTION POSITION. Because of the learning curve and long training process, candidates should posses a strong interest in committing to a full-time, office-environment job for a minimum of 2-3 years.
