Responsibilities: • Assist lawyers in preparing legal documentation, pleadings, and correspondence including correspondence such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits • Work with lawyers to prepare for trial by conducting research on legal articles, preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, filing motions, and assisting with client meetings • Conduct interviews with clients to gather information about their legal issues • Take care of administrative tasks such as answering phones and maintaining an organized filing system for all legal documents • Mastery in efiling with the probate court system, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all submissions • Comprehensive management of case preparations with a special focus on probate, guardianship, estate planning, and litigation, including organizing evidence, drafting legal documents, and maintaining meticulous case files • Direct and empathetic interaction with clients, offering support and guidance through sensitive probate matters with professionalism and care • Diligent tracking and reporting of billable hours, utilizing time-keeping software to ensure accurate and honest accounting of work performed • Collaboration with attorneys and team members to maintain the firm’s standard of excellence, contributing to a harmonious and productive work environment Qualifications: • Must have strong interpersonal skills and talent for writing and grammar • Candidates who have completed a paralegal professional certification or have advanced paralegal education will receive preference • Candidates should possess high-level organizational skills, and time-management skills • ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate’s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor’s degree desired • Preferred experience in probate, guardianship, litigation, and/or estate planning. • Preferred law office experience • Proficient in the use of efiling systems and familiar with the nuances of the probate court process. • Demonstrated ability to accurately track and report billable hours, with a commitment to honesty and integrity in all professional activities • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of handling client interactions with empathy and kindness • A collaborative spirit that thrives in a close-knit team atmosphere, valuing punctuality, teamwork, and mutual respect Compensation: $36,000 with bonus potential
