SUMMARY OF PROJECT
The Henry Ford is seeking to contract with two INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNERS who will each support the design, implementation, and optimization of two new professional development courses for educators that are scalable, inclusive, accessible, and aligned to The Henry Ford's collections and learning framework. One of these Instructional Designers will build two courses that address social emotional learning & culturally responsive teaching and one Instructional Designer will build two courses that address overcoming learning loss using place- and problem-based learning. We are seeking Instructional Designers with expertise and interest in each of these project areas. Those contractors selected for the project teams will be led by a Lead Instructional Designer working on the same topic and managed by the Manager, Educator Engagement & Professional Development.
BACKGROUND OF PROJECT
Over two years, The Henry Ford seeks to increase the portfolio and reach of its Educator Professional Development, particularly for Michigan educators, through the creation of six asynchronous online courses that highlight innovative approaches to teaching and learning. These courses will be available to educators through inHub, an online learning platform and will address the challenges faced by learning loss experienced in Michigan K-12 classrooms that resulted from the pandemic. In the first year of this project, The Henry Ford hopes to launch four of these courses.
