The Diversity and Inclusion Internship Program at The Henry Ford is a cohort-based program that offers professional development, mentorship, and networking opportunities. We invite diverse candidates* who are curious about careers in the museum world to become a part of our legacy and take it forward. FOR WINTER 2023, INTERNSHIPS WILL LAST 15 WEEKS, PROJECTED TO BEGIN ON JANUARY 23 AND CONCLUDE ON MAY 5. ALL INTERNSHIPS ARE PAID OPPORTUNITIES.

HOW WILL WE WORK TOGETHER?
The COMMUNITY OUTREACH & ENGAGEMENT INTERN can expect to work hybrid which will primarily consist of working remotely. Based on specific meetings, programs and events, there will be times this work will take place on-site at The Henry Ford's campus in Dearborn or off-site at a community partner's location in the Metro Detroit area.
Since its launch in 2006, The Henry Ford's Community Outreach Program has grown to include over 120 nonprofit organizations that offer a wide range of services. The Community Outreach & Engagement Intern will assist in developing strategic growth opportunities that meet the needs of our diverse community partners and communities.
We will rely on you to support and assist the Program Manager of Community Outreach and Engagement and the Director of Museum Experiences & Engagement with developing unique on-site and virtual experiences for our Community Outreach Program partners and the communities they serve, as well as drafting e-communications materials. You will also have the opportunity to interact with other institutional stakeholders and work cross-functionally with various internal experts.
