    Our Film Department is seeking an experienced PRODUCER as part of our Media Relations & Studio Productions team. This is a rare opportunity to bring The Henry Ford to life through dynamic and compelling video content and storytelling that inspires our audiences to engage more deeply with our mission.

    Nimble, creative, and strategic, the Producer serves as a key storyteller who brings a willingness to experiment with fresh approaches that fit within our brand strategy. This person is responsible for shooting, recording, and editing original and stunning video content that well represents The Henry Ford's collections and all programming, products, initiatives and expertise at the institution.

    The Producer must be an expert in digital media, motion graphics/animation, social media and streaming platforms and the delivery of video content for each of those platforms with the understanding of best editing practices and format.  Additionally, the producer will work on partnered projects and initiatives such as The Henry Ford's Innovation Nation or other special/future projects.

    This person must have a positive outlook and thrive in a team and collaborative environment that demonstrates initiative, provide leadership, possess the ability to multi-task on multiple projects and deadlines concurrently. This person must be innovative and can fulfill the tenets of the job with a sensitivity to historic environments, collections, property and guests to The Henry Ford.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Serves as a shooter, audio recorder and editor for compelling digital video productions that will include collaborative producing as well as independent producing of projects  
    • Manages video and multi-media projects from pre through post-production; research new/replacement equipment, make approved purchases, select musical tracks, process closed captioning, and accounts for project expenditures, and submit reports as required.
    • Acts as support for video editorial meetings working collaboratively to identify and clarify communications concepts, scope, theme, location scouting, graphic preparation, limited set design, releases, budget, timeline, and priorities.
    • Proficient in video encoding, codecs, and proper formatting for different platforms such as social media.
    • Assists in managing outside vendors and production coordination with an understanding that said vendors are an extension of the film team.
    • Organization and attention to details, as well as asset management will be conducted in all work.
    • Provides creative input on scripts and content concepts that are engaging on brand and historically accurate.
    • Cultivates broad understanding of The Henry Ford's collections and helps refine broad strategic goals (sometimes from multiple sources) and general ideas into specific content creation plans.
    • Embraces and fulfills The Henry Ford brand through production of video and associated digital media.
    • Open to enhance existing skills, learn new skills, and maintain understanding and working knowledge of industry standards and practices, as well as developments in the fields of content strategy, content marketing, and social media.
    • Responsible for the updating and upkeep of THF's in-house video and audio production equipment, records and logs, and other associated tools and processes.
    • Capable of video post-production for digital broadcasting delivering storytelling in the right voice based on varied needs including current and emerging social media platforms and standards.
    • Capable of incorporating constructive critique and input to projects from a variety of sources with the understanding that projects are represented as THF and not individually with personal attribution.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

    • 4-year degree in film production, advertising, digital media, or related field

    • 7 or more years of film and video production experience

    • Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite of software for graphic design

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION & PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

    • Must have ability to delegate and supervise activities; management experience preferred
    • We are a seven-day operation and weekends, holidays and occasional early/late day work is required
    • This position may need to work outdoors in all weather, around stove and fireplace smoke and in non-air-conditioned and heated interiors.
    • You should be comfortable working in and around historic artifacts and collections pieces that have unique protocols.
