The Henry Ford - 2023 Audition Notice
- Shows run June 19 through September 4, 2023 (Shows at Central Market begin June 10 )
- Rehearsals estimated to begin mid-May
- Average performance day is 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Performers must be at least 18 years old by April 30, 2023.
- Actors and singers are hired as employees of The Henry Ford and will be paid $100 per day for performances, $15 per hour for rehearsals and fittings.
- Performances are outdoors in Greenfield Village, rain or shine.
- All auditions must be submitted online in conjunction with application by Monday, May 19, 2023.
- Callbacks to be held in person by invitation only

ROLES for the 2023 Season include:
(Specific ages given are ages the actor can realistically play; age ranges given are open and flexible within that range.)
- Benjamin Hockley (Black, male-presenting, late 60s)– Jack-Of-All-Trades at Detroit Central Market
- Elijah McCoy (Black, male-presenting, any age) – Inventor whose innovations helped revolutionize the railroad industry. Age in show ranges throughout from ~10-80 years old.
- Mary McCoy (Black, female-presenting, late 60;s) - Philanthropist and club-woman whose charitable actions helped her improve her community and advocate for the underprivileged.
- Calvin Wood (male-presenting, 40s-50s) Caterer/proprietor of Eagle Tavern (strong improvisational skills recommended)
