    Job Description

Company Summary: The Heritage Group (THG) is a family-owned business that over the past 80+ years has built a diverse set of prominent, growth-oriented private and public companies. As a key thought leader and resource for THG, the Strategy and M&A (S+M&A) team is charged with executing new platform investments, add-on acquisitions for portfolio companies and value creation initiatives across the THG portfolio.

Our team continues to grow, and the Senior Associate will be a key part of our S+M&A team. This critical role will assume a diverse set of responsibilities including 1) evaluating and executing new platform acquisitions, 2) participating in value creation initiatives within the THG portfolio, including add-on acquisitions and strategic planning, 3) conducting industry research and market analysis in support of new investments and investment strategies and 4) working on other special projects for the THG S+M&A team.

Heritage's Strategy + M&A group is a small, specialized team that evaluates and executes strategic add-on acquisitions, new platform investments, and functions as an internal strategy group, providing support to our companies in a variety of areas ranging from new growth initiatives to operational excellence. Team members have backgrounds in private equity, investment banking, business operations, and strategy consulting. Unlike traditional private equity firms, Heritage benefits from two critical points of differentiation:

    1. Permanent Capital Base: Heritage is internally funded and has no outside investors, which enables a long-term, patient approach to building businesses and unlocking value.
    2. Strategic Investor: by leveraging the knowledge of our portfolio companies and research group of over 50 scientists, we can appreciate the science that underpins a company's success and provide the resources to accelerate growth.

The Heritage Group's philosophy is that our greatest asset is our people. Our Strategy+M&A team places a strong emphasis on both personal and professional development, and our goal is to hire individuals who will remain with The Heritage Group throughout their entire career.
