  • Responsibilities

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Provides routine daily wellness services that support the care delivered to residents requiring ongoing or rehabilitative care, in accordance with the established nursing care procedures and as directed by the supervisor.

    TASKS MY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

    • Administers prescribed medications.
    • Performance of prescribed treatments following facility policy and procedures.
    • May be involved in the supervision of the CNA’s in the delivery of planned resident care.
    • Actively participate in the orientation and development of other MA.
    • Assists the resident in any daily routines, any personal care and housekeeping tasks that the resident needs assistance in performing.
    • Reports observations and other pertinent information related to the care of the resident.
    • Provides services that support the care delivered to the resident and daily review care plants to determine if changes in the daily care routine have been made.
    • Provides input in the formulation and evaluation of standards of care.
    • Participates in the identification of staff educational needs.
    • Conducts self in a professional manner in compliance with unit and facility policies.
    • Surveys for safety and picks up resident’s room each day. Removes all soiled linens from rooms. Bed linens, towels, and washcloths are to be changed as necessary.
    • Performs routine checks on residents, provides assistance to toilet, shower, or other location as needed.
    • Maintains that all resident call lights are promptly answered, followed by appropriate responses to requests.
    • Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information.
    • Performs other duties as assigned by Director of Resident Care, LVN or the Executive Director.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Graduated from high school or equivalent preferred.
    • Previous experience preferred, but not needed.  On the job training provided.
    • Good understanding of nursing process, strong clinical skills in administration of medications and performing treatments, and strong understanding of infection control procedures.
    • Experience working with the elderly is desirable.
    • Must be able to read, speak and write the English language.
