  • Responsibilities

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Cook is responsible for preparation and service of food for all of the residents, while meeting the nutritional needs of the residents. Job duties include, but are not limited to: prepare and/or assists with preparing food for regular and approved specialized diets according to the planned menu, prepare and/or assist with preparing food using proper food handling and food safety techniques according to established policies and regulations, ensure that the proper quantity of food is prepared and in accordance with established time schedules, prepares and/or assist with preparing food for employees and special events as instructed by supervisor, keep work area clean and uncluttered during preparation and service of food, maintain proper temperature of food during preparation and service, and ensure that the food is served in an attractive, appetizing manner.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent credentials (GED).
    • Current food handlers license.
    • Prior experience in dining or restaurant setting preferred.
    • Must have experience with scratch-based cooking.
