    The Hire Mark is recruiting full time 1 on 1 Educational Specialists with a focus on reading and math skills for a Jewish Middle School adjacent to Beverly Hills.

     

    This is a full time position with pay from 65k and up!

    JOB DESCRIPTION / ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS:

    HARKHAM HILLEL HEBREW ACADEMY, a dual-curriculum Jewish Orthodox school for children from ECE to Grade 8, integrates the love of learning and intrinsic connection to Judaism and Israel with a rigorous and dynamic general studies curriculum. 

     

    In collaboration with the Dean of Student and Family Support Services, the Learning Specialist will provide direct “push-in” and/or  “pull-out” academic intervention services to enhance student achievements, reduce skills’ gaps for specific subjects including for students with academic skills delays. Student caseload will primarily be from grades Kindergarten to 3rd grade, for subjects such as early literacy acquisition including reading, comprehension, and writing, as well as numeracy/math calculation and reasoning skills.

     

    EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time, to be determined based on candidate’s hours, availability and the school’s needs

    REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS: B.A, B.S, M.Ed., M.A., M.S., etc.,  familiarity with research-based remediation  interventions and RTI approaches for students with learning or processing differences; familiarity with special education terminology, understanding  assessments, &  data collection of student progress outcomes DUTIES:

     

    • Collaborate with Student Support Dean, classroom teachers, parents, and outside educational therapists to support students with learning differences

    • Deliver small group differentiated  instruction and/or remediation for specific groups of students/ identified caseload with similar learning needs, i.e. in reading, writing, and/or math

    • Provide documented student accommodations for testing, assignments, whole-group or small group learning times, such as extra time, small group proctor, modifications, etc.

    • Leverage technology to enhance student achievements

    • Assess student progress and response to interventions, including student academic skill development

    • Develop learning tools & resources and provide to teachers and students as needed

    • Participate in observations on individual students in order to identify any potential barriers that may be impacting a specific student’s  learning in the classroom

    • Participate in student success  planning meetings
