OVERVIEW
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for ensuring that the organization's finance, accounting, and corresponding technology functions operate efficiently and effectively and align with strategic goals.
JOB SUMMARY
The CFO oversees the finance and accounting functions of the organization. They will ensure that the Finance and Administration team's workflow, resources, and systems are integrated with and supportive of organizational vision and strategic goals. They must provide support to the Board of Directors' Finance, Investment, and Audit committees. The CFO is a member of the Executive Team and works collaboratively with other Executive Team members. Must also be able to give senior counsel to the CEO and the Executive Team on issues related to the Finance & Administration team.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
SENIOR MANAGEMENT (30%)
FINANCE (60%)
Provides leadership of the finance and accounting functions, including:
Providing good stewardship over financial resources
Developing the organizational budgeting processes
The allocation and distribution of financial resources
The production of timely organizational financial reporting
Presenting financial analysis and reporting to the CEO, Executive Team, the Board of Directors, staff, funders, and other constituents
As Officer of the organization, acting as the primary signer for disbursements, contracts, tax documents, etc.
Serving as staff liaison to the Finance, Investment, and Audit Committees of the Board of Directors
In conjunction with the Investment Committee and money managers, manage the organization's investment portfolio; oversee and develop policies for managing the endowment and other restricted funds
Overseeing legal compliance and regulatory filings for Company's U.S. and foreign entities
Ensure use of innovative technologies to support Company's strategic finance goals
Implementation and use of other finance tools, such as software, that help support efficient and effective collaboration across the organization
