Our client is a large construction services company operating on the west coast within large commercial developments. They are seeking a Co-CEO for one of their biggest divisions. The ideal candidate has solid leadership skills, a deep understanding of commercial construction, a track record of success running a business from an operational and financial perspective and can demonstrate a mastery of selfless service. Experience in construction, or commercial development, as well as track record of delivering large commercial construction projects on time and on-budget is required. A familiarity with implementing technology, BIM, ERP systems, quality-assurance and continuous improvement manufacturing is a plus.
MUST HAVE experience in the CEO position previously.
What You'll Do:
- Develop and implement a strategic plan with a focus on on-time and on-budget delivery of large-scale commercial construction projects, standardization of company-wide processes and systems, continuous improvement, factory automation, implementing a company-wide ERP system, developing new products and bringing them to market and generating revenue growth.
- Achieve strategic objectives by building and leading a results-oriented leadership team and company culture.
- Implement pre-construction, on-site and off-site construction project management processes to deliver large construction projects on-time and within budget.
- Develop, or leverage existing, industry contacts, networks, and relationships to advance our customer and marketing-facing initiatives.
- Oversee the internalization of all Accounting, Finance, IT and Operations, and the establishment of company-wide design and construction standardization for efficient, repetitive construction of modular buildings.
- Drive revenue and EBITDA growth through increases in market share in target markets and applications.
- Collaborate as a member of senior management to pursue operational excellence in accounting, finance, IT and administration/operations; ensuring functional areas are closely integrated for efficiency and scalability.
- Oversee the accurate and timely preparation and communication of financial statements for senior management and the Board of Directors.
- Communicate progress and challenges to stakeholders including the board, private equity ownership, banks, and employees.
What We're Looking For:
- 10+ years’ experience in leadership and executive management, ideally in construction or commercial development industry
- Deep knowledge and experience in pre-construction, on-site and offsite construction processes, estimating, procurement, production and quality assurance.
- An understanding of conventional, design-build, and alternative construction, design and engineering contracting, subcontracting, permitting and inspection processes and requirements.
- Distinguished educational performance. MBA, CPA, architecture/advanced engineering degrees a plus.
- Experience successfully owning and running a P&L.
- Technical construction and manufacturing background - understanding of technical products and how to sell them.
- Experience with technology start-ups, implementing ERP systems and factory automation.
- Experience launching new product lines and marketing through web-based in-bound marketing campaigns and e-commerce.
- Experience working in a privately-owned or closely-held business; ability to engage with a Board of Directors.
- A proven track record of achieving change, growth and financial objectives.
- Strong communication, analytical, critical thinking and financial skills with the ability to understand and describe complex situations.
