This position is responsible for performing a variety of accounting duties to ensure accurate and timely completion of work within the Accounting Department. Actively supports the achievement of the Company by performing a variety of higher level accounting duties and responsibilities. Ensures financials accurately represent the transactions of the company.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare financial statements including Balance Sheets, Income Statements, Cash Flow Statement, Statement of Equity
- Draft financial statement footnotes
- Perform accounting research and draft accounting memoranda.
- Prepare or review reconciliations of General Ledger accounts and investigate any unreconciled differences.
- Prepare or review journal entries including proper General Ledger account, department, division, and project cost coding.
- Prepare or review monthly amortization schedules.
- Review monthly bank reconciliations and investigates any unreconciled differences.
- Review fixed assets information/depreciation for the books.
- Ensures Accounts Receivables are accurately reported and allowance is accrued for.
- Develop and implement new internal control systems and processes for high volume transaction environment.
- Interface with other departments in the education and application of accounting policies.
- Assists in the preparation of annual budgets.
- Rotates certain treasury functions such as Daily Cash Reporting.
- Assists with ad hoc financial analysis, systems upgrade, process improvements, etc.
- Prepares various accounting reports for divisions and upper management.
- Assists various other departments with accounting related issues (e.g. G/L coding questions).

- High level of technical competence with US General Accepted Accounting Principles
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Economics or Business
- CPA required.Public accounting firm experience a plus.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in Accounting.
- A solid understanding of Finance and Accounting theories, practices, and terminologies.
- Proficiency in Great Plains and Microsoft Dynamics a plus.
- Must have strong computer skills and the ability to learn in a fast-paced, high volume transaction environment.
- Must be able to create and/or maintain Excel spreadsheets using formulas.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision to meet deadlines.
- Must demonstrate the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Must be able to analyze a project/problem and define a better procedure/solution.
- Attention to detail is a must.
- Experience with multiple entities is a plus
