A top-tier residential real estate firm is seeking a SENIOR TAX ACCOUNTANT to join their tax team. Working closely with the VP of Finance & Accounting, this is a great role for a  TAX ACCOUNTANT looking to transition into a CORPORATE ACCOUNTING role while utilizing their strong Tax background.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support/Perform month-end and year-end close process
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Review financials and supporting schedules prepared by third party management teams
• Liaise with our corporate accounting department and third parties to improve financial procedures
• Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule
• Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable for privately owned and development entities
• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
• Assist with tax audits and tax returns
• Track acquisitions, dispositions and transfers of assets and compute tax depreciation expenses
• Research federal and state tax issues and assist with tax strategy planning
• Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance
• Plan, assign and review third party work
• Ensure compliance with GAAP principles

REQUIREMENTS

• BS in Accounting, Finance or related field required. CPA is a plus
• 2+ years with a Big 4 or regional tax firm preferred. CPA required if experience is from a smaller tax firm
• Strong corporate and partnership tax experience required
• Familiarity with financial accounting statements (balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows, etc).
• Strong Excel skills utilizing VLookUp and Pivot Tables
• Excellent communication skills and thrives in a fast-paced, corporate environment
