    Come Grow with Us! IRBY Group, a Local South Alabama Based Real Estate Investment Group is in need of a full time, accountant in its finance department. Aside from operating the largest house flipping business on the Gulf Coast, we also own a portfolio of single family houses, apartment buildings and commercial properties. Additionally we operate a property management company and a realty team. Our new accountant will be responsible for bookkeeping duties for all of these business entities and holding companies. Candidate must be detail-oriented with knowledge of (GAAP) accounting procedures and financial reporting practices. Candidate should have solid working knowledge of software and database systems used in financial reporting, as well as significant Quickbooks experience. Strong PC skills and proficiency with spreadsheet programs, such as MS Excel, are essential. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to summarize and present financial data in an organized, concise manner. Candidate should possess strong mathematical and technical skills, be self-motivated, be able to multi-task and communicate effectively. Must be able to work independently and have the ability to interact with coworkers, management, customers and lenders. Responsibilities include bank, balance sheet and profit and loss reconciliations for the businesses as well as the owner’s personal account, payroll, month end close and financial reporting. Responsibilities: Preparation of financial statements Bookkeeping: Enter data, maintain records and produce financial reports Bank reconciliations Ensure completion of tax forms Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct daybook, suppliers ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger Handle payroll in a timely manner and process accounts receivable and accounts payable in a timely manner Process payroll to provide payment to employees on time • Review & audit monthly income and expenses for multiple properties • Reconcile monthly rental income to bank account • Prepare monthly net cash flow statements • Bank/Security Deposit Reconciliations • Calculate and record journal entry allocation expenses related to insurance, legal, accounting, etc. vendors • Verify mortgage loan principal and real estate tax escrow account balances tie to monthly mortgage statements from lenders • Prepare and Audit annual budgets for multiple properties • Accounts Payable & Bill Paying • Accounts Receivable • Assist Controller with projects as needed Qualifications: Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and GAAP standards Strong knowledge of QuickBooks, Excel, and basic accounting systems Must possess exceptional communication, problem-solving, and time management skills 2+ years of work experience at an accounting firm or as a bookkeeper, cost accountant, management accountant, or similar position Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software Efficient in calculating, posting and managing accounting figures and financial records Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) • Significant Quickbooks experience • BACHELOR'S DEGREE • MINIMUM THREE YEARS’ WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. • Real Estate experience a plus but not required Compensation: $35,000 - $47,000 per year DOE
