    Job Description

    The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and implementing all aspects of the volunteer program, including recruiting, screening, placement, communication, retention, scheduling, and appreciation of volunteers. The Volunteer Coordinator places volunteers into a wide variety of positions in the office, outreach opportunities, events, and also maintains all records as needed.

    Role Responsibilities

    Volunteer Scheduling and Relations

    Respond appropriately and in a timely fashion to all-volunteer, group, & service inquiries and scheduling-related correspondence.

    Support the F3 team in determining volunteer needs for project sites, in partnership with F3 staff.

    Schedule individual and group volunteers, strategically balancing available opportunities.

    Maintain and update volunteer opportunities posted on the Volunteer Scheduling System, and update to reflect the changing needs of projects.

    Ensure that volunteers receive informative, targeted communications, including e-news, event updates, volunteer opportunities, etc.

    Recruitment and outreach of volunteers.

    Schedule and facilitate regular volunteer orientations.

    Build and maintain relationships with volunteers.

    Schedule and communicate with groups of volunteers, including Corporate Teams, Campus Chapters, and Faith Community members.

    Develop and implement plans to appreciate volunteers formally and informally, including an annual volunteer appreciation event.

    Assist in Volunteer Recognition efforts. This may include volunteer interviews, profiles in newsletters, e-news features, etc.

    Collect measurable data in relation to volunteer numbers, volunteer retention, and volunteer conversion and share in monthly reporting methods.

    Monitor volunteer satisfaction through occasional evaluations, surveys, or phone calls.

    Maintain volunteer data and volunteer records, including sign-in sheets, liability waivers, youth release forms, etc.

    Implement appropriate policies for volunteers completing court-ordered community service and for volunteers under the age of 18.

    Qualifications

    Commitment to The Isaiah 1:17 Project’s mission and program goals.

    Detail-oriented and highly organized

    Proven ability to be a self-starter and work without close supervision; ability to perform under deadlines and changing schedules required.

    Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    Experience working with volunteers, speaking to groups, and/or group facilitation.

    Strong interpersonal skills; Ability to effectively work with volunteers of varied backgrounds, skills, and experience..

    Experience in customer service.

    Experience with Bloomerang or CRM systems preferred
