Job Type - Full-time and Part-Time summer in Leawood, KS Description - Weekday Hours - have your weekends free! - Work outside with kids doing games, crafts, sports and swimming! - Full time summer positions and some part time positions SCHEDULE AND REQUIRED TRAINING - J Camp is in session May 31-August 5, with an option to work an additional week August 8-12. Staff work shifts between the hours of 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. - Staff Orientation will be held May 31- June 3 and is required for all staff. Additional staff training will be scheduled for Directors and Specialists. AVAILABLE STAFF POSITIONS J CAMP 2022 REQUIREMENTS PARAEDUCATOR JCAMP: Paraeducators work with school-aged youth with developmental disabilities or special needs to modify or adapt summer day camp experiences so that youth may participate with their peers. Paraeducators develop goals for the child they support with the help of parents and our Inclusion Specialist. Our staff members document progress and communicate regularly with parents. Must be 19 years or age or older and graduated from high school. Education and/or experience working with youth with disabilities or special needs preferred. Salary $11-15/hr depending on experience and education. SENIOR COUNSELORS: Must be 18 years old and a high school graduate or older. Salary $11.50-$12.50/hour, depending on qualifications. - Responsible for the health and safety of campers. - Oversees all aspects of camper group schedule and programs. Creates and carries out activity plans. Leads day camp programs, teaches activities, and assists with swim lessons. - Works with Camp Directors to create and implement behavior management plans. - Maintains records as required, such as attendance, medicine, swimming and safety related information. - Assists with all camp special activities. Attends staff training and staff meetings. JUNIOR COUNSELORS: Must be at least 16 years old and entering 11th-12 grade. Salary $10.00-$11.00/hour. - Assists Senior Counselor in creating activity plans, leading group activities, and recordkeeping. - Works with campers, assists with teaching activities and assists with swim lessons. - Attends orientation, staff meetings, and assigned undernight programs. CAMP DIRECTORS AND ASSISTANT DIRECTORS: Preference to those 21 years of age or older and those with previous camp experience. Salary $13/hour and higher, depending on job responsibilities and qualifications. - Overall responsibility for program schedule and general administration of the day camp program. - Supervises staff within camp program, including Senior Counselors, Junior Counselors, and LITs. - Oversees or implements camp programs, including undernights, field trips, and special events. - Communicates with parents, as necessary. MA' ASIM TOVIM SENIOR COUNSELORS: Must be 21 years of age or older and have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Salary $12-14/hour depending on qualifications. - Responsible for the health and safety of campers. - Oversees all aspects of camper group schedule and programs. Creates and carries out activity plans. - Drives campers to program sites and maintains cleanliness of 12-passenger van. - Attends orientation, staff meetings and assists with special camp activities. - Works with Camp Director to create and implement behavior management plans.
