Hours:
3rd Shift. SUNDAY: 10:15PM TO 7:15AM; MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY: 11:30PM TO 7:15AM
Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for building or repairing all types, sizes and shapes of tools, dies, fixtures and jigs. Assemble and tryout complex tools and dies on manufacturing equipment as required for production.
- Reads and interprets blueprints or works from verbal or written instructions or from the part to be copied or fitted.
- Plans the setup and operation of all types of machine shop tools, considering types of material, tolerances, types of cutting tools, coolants, lubricants and machine tool feeds and speeds.
- Performs hand operations involved in producing jigs, fixtures, tools and dies. Uses hand tools of the trade.
- Fits and assembles jigs, fixtures, tools and dies. Sets up, runs off and tests dies to produce a product to specifications, tracing die difficulties to their source and correcting same.
- Tear down, repairs and reassembles tooling on the bench or in the press as required.
- High degree of precision and control in work where damage could be high and where muscular control and delicate touch are required.
- High degree of attention and care required, preventing injury to self and others when operating machine tools.
- Possess good troubleshooting skills.
