    Job Description

    Our Philadelphia client in the venture capital business is looking to hire an Accounting Assistant (Part Time on a Temp to Hire). The position will require 20-30 hours a week. This role will pay up to $25 an hour for a qualified candidate. * In office Tue/Wed - Flexible on schedule * Dress code is business casual * Location is in Center City Philadelphia * Vaccine preferred, but not required The ideal candidate will be excited to perform daily administrative accounting functions and ensure that accounting operations are running smoothly. Responsibilities will include: * Ensure all Accounts Payable (A/P) invoices are properly authorized by department heads or upper management, as needed (Moderate volume) * Control expenses by receiving and completing payments, plus processing, verifying and reconciling invoices (approximately 40 employees) * Answer vendor and employee inquiries regarding A/P * Maintain proper documentation and vendor files for tax and audit purposes * Reconcile and resolve disputes and variances with vendors * Assist with or fully control the year-end 1099 filing process * Prepare checks as needed, following the CFO's review and management's approval * Properly classify entries to correct GL accounts and support year-end audit requests * Maintain all users in the Travel & Expense (T&E) system * Review, revise and approve all expense reporting submissions, ensuring company policies and procedures are followed * Train new employees and conduct ongoing internal training on all T&E processes and policies across all three First Round offices and remote locations * Serve as the main point of contact for all travel, expense and credit card questions * Troubleshoot the systems including user access issues * Assist with all other special tasks and projects as directed by management Qualifications * You have a knack for details, organization, and ability to multitask * You are efficient and can provide a quick turnaround to meet deadlines. * You have the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. * Sense of urgency and manage your time well * Experience in QuickBooks, GoogleSuite or Expensify a plus Once the position goes from temp to hire, there may be the ability to increase hours.
