POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs high quality maintenance and housekeeping working on existing buildings and grounds and using various hand tools and gas-powered tools to mow and maintain the John H. Boner Community Center's properties. This includes multifamily, single family housing units and commercial buildings. 

Essential Functions:

• Development:  Assist in the implementation of various housekeeping and maintenance projects.  
• Education/Training:  Is a participant during workshops and training projects
• Operations:  Assists in operational troubleshooting and in streamlining work processes.
• Program Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining gardens and lawns
  • Caring for and cultivating foliage including planting, fertilizing, weeding, watering, trimming and pruning, soil conditioning, mulching and applying pesticides
  • Ensuring pathways, stairs, outdoor seating and other structures are safe
  • Operating and maintaining garden and landscaping equipment
  • Perform snow removal with shovel and other equipment, as needed
  • Clean restrooms weekly.
  • Sweep and mop floors weekly. 
  • Empty, bag, and remove trash
  • Wash windows inside and out as needed, at least once a month.
  • Spot wash doors, woodwork, molding regularly.
  • Clean vacant units for move-ins
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred;
• 2 years of experience of lawn care and snow removal, preferred
• A valid driver's license with trailer towing experience
• Enjoy working outdoors in a variety of temperatures
• Physical stamina with the ability to sustain extensive periods of sitting, standing and bending down during shift
• Knowledge of gardening equipment
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Proven record of cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, showers and locker rooms
• Capable of maintaining janitor closets in a clean, organized and safe manner
• Demonstrated ability of maintaining janitorial equipment in a clean, safe and operable condition
• Knowledge of restocking supplies in bathrooms, break rooms, and common areas
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Ability to communicate well with managers, guests and coworkers.
