    Job Description

    ANCILLARY BENEFITS PRACTICE LEADER

    The Ancillary Benefits Practice Leader will work with producers and client-service teams to drive voluntary benefits revenue growth and build the Voluntary Benefits practice in the Northeast. This will be accomplished through a strategic approach that allows clients and prospects to improve benefit offerings and solve the benefit challenges faced

    RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES 

    • Work with producers and account teams to identify opportunities for ancillary benefits for clients and prospects: Organize training and education and participate in prospect and client meetings
    • Work with marketing and communications team to build collateral to support the practice
    • Maintain an understanding of the ancillary benefits marketplace, tracking updates in products, pricing, and partnerships with cooperative vendors (e.g. benefit administration systems, enrollment firms)
    • Participation in the national voluntary benefits workgroup to take advantage of the perspective of other geographies and efforts put forth by shared services team  
    • Support implementation and administration of voluntary benefits
    • Troubleshoot acute issues, work with our communications team as needed, train and support account team and develop ancillary benefits specific administrative support
    • Build and manage a voluntary benefits team over time
    • Track and monitor practice growth and profitability

    Requirements and Qualifications:

    • College degree required; MBA (or similar degree) desired.
    • Professional qualifications/insurance licenses as required by the Company or ability to secure within a reasonable timeframe.
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in insurance brokerage or similar background, with a minimum of 3 years in a sales leadership capacity with direct P&L responsibility.
    • Position requires a high degree of financial acumen with an understanding of the insurance brokerage industry, people development and management, change management, and business strategy.
    • Excellent leadership skills with a proven ability to lead leaders and implement a corporate strategy on a broad basis.
    • Ability to manage and motivate teams to deliver financial and business results and effectively manage through significant change.
    • Proven track record of new business development and existing business retention.
    • Ability to set sales goals for production talent and coach to achievement.
    • Proven success working in a matrixed environment.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, to include collaboration, influencing and negotiation skills.
