Job Description

We are looking for a full-time Web Developer for BigCommerce, the ideal candidate for this position is a hands-on professional with strong knowledge of content management platforms, and an ability to translate our business needs into client-friendly functions that will expand our website's influence in our industry. A person who is motivated to combine the art of design with the art of programming. Responsibilities will include translation of the UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that will produce visual elements of the application. You will work with the designer and bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the site looks as well as how it works. Last but not least the understanding of analytics of traffic and and engagement to site

MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop new user-facing features
• Build reusable code and libraries for future use
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
• Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
• Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
• Adhere to Web Standards for accessibility and usability
• Implement testing tools that monitor the ongoing performance of the company website
• Integration of APPs/APIs to enhance BigCommerce store front
• Assist in updating application development policies to ensure that all future applications meet the latest technical requirements
• Develop marketing and sales tools as needed
• Analyze data and run site and campaign reports for management

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• 4+ Years as a Web Developer
• Must have 2+ experience with CMS platforms, BigCommerce or familiar with Shopify, Magento or Wordpress
• Proficient programming languages and understanding of web markup, including REST API, HTML5, CSS3, PHP, Node.js, JAVA, REACT and MySQL.
• Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms
• Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery
• Good understanding of Responsive Web development
• Ability to create support documentation for all new applications
• SEO best practice knowledge
• Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image

PLUS SKILLS: Familiarity with tools such as as Photoshop, Illustrator, Gimp or Lightroom is a plus Experience using SEMRush platform Experience implementing Google Analytics

IMPORTANT This is remote position temporarily during COVID-19 but will be an in office full-time role. You will need to work out of our Irvine, CA office daily for the allocated hours once back in the office.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
