Job Description
Kaplan Trucking is searching for an Operations Coordinator to join the operations team! We will teach you the industry from the ground up and give you the opportunity to become successful in this role. As an Operations Coordinator you will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:
Responsibilities:
- Coordinating movement of general freight loads
- Act as the liaison between agents, owner operators and customers as the main point of contact
- Facilitate agent activity by keeping abreast of their load availability as well as the location and availability of our owner operator base within the Eastern US and Texas
- Provide any administrative duties such as customer account set up, credit checks, load advances and managing owner operator statements, providing email documentation, etc.
- Researching history of owner operators and making any recommendations regarding requests they may have
- Contact new and existing agents, operators and customers to discuss their needs and provide details of the services offered to best meet them
- Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information about safety, compliance, and share statement updates
- Ensures agents, operators and customer satisfaction by proactively seeking out input, recommending solutions, and solving problems through independent thinking
- Inform agents, operators and customers of estimated delivery schedules, service contracts, or other information pertaining to services rendered
Qualifications:
- College Degree Required
- Minimum 2 years providing excellent customer service in a professional environment
- Basic to Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to think quickly and change direction as needed
- Problem solving abilities
- Positive attitude and friendly demeanor
Nice to haves:
- Experience with general freight in transportation/logistics industry
- Knowledge of DOT Safety regulations
- Ability to communicate in Spanish would be a plus
