    Job Title: Event Manager

    Reporting to: Director of Sales

    Who We Are…

    The Ned NoMad is a new members’ club and hotel that opened in the heart of New York in summer 2022. It’s the first international ‘Ned’ site to open following the launch of The Ned London in 2017.

    The Property…

    Located in The Johnston Building and formerly the NoMad Hotel in Manhattan, the property was built in 1903 as a store and office building. The original architectural features have been honored, with interiors designed by the Soho House Design team.

    The Ned NoMad offers a mix of members-only and public spaces, including 167 bedrooms and suites. Ned’s Club will give members access to a rooftop bar and terrace restaurant as well as a first-floor bar, grill, and lounge with live entertainment from The Atrium Stage, seven nights a week. New to the property is Cecconi’s, a modern day classic Italian restaurant.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Lead sales initiatives targeted at capturing new private event business while actively targeting past clients to generate repeat business.

    Create banquet event orders (BEOs) in Tripleseat, that are communicated and distributed to all relevant departments.

    Respond to leads in a timely fashion, documenting in Tripleseat for recordkeeping.

    Lead weekly BEO meeting.

    Reconcile all financials post-event, ensuring all events are entered correctly into Micros and charged appropriately to the client.

    Manage expectations of client in terms of appearance, set-up, service, and food quality.

    Proactively anticipate guests’ needs and respond promptly in a solutions-oriented manner.

    Ensure staff and management always maintain positive guest relations.

    Resolve guest complaints, partnering with the appropriate stakeholders and ensure maximum guest satisfaction.

    Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures and standards.

    Oversee all daily banquet setups in terms of BEO requirements, space appearance, A/V equipment, maintenance, storage, and equipment for both current and future events.

    Overseen event setup persons through daily activities including, furniture maneuvering, equipment maintenance, storage cleanliness and productivity.

    Ensure quality control across all items from both kitchen and bar. Ensure quality work of cleaning crews in terms of space appearance, maintenance, storage, and equipment.

    Maintain/ensure continued professional and quality communication between all food service and kitchen staff.

    Ensure/maintain proper stock of banquet equipment as needed for departmental operation.

    Maintain complete knowledge of:

    scheduled daily events.

    function times/schedules (including staff in times, breaks, etc.)

    employee daily schedule/ expected duties and setups for daily and future functions.

    daily activities of both active and non-active function spaces (i.e., sunset, rest reservations, etc.). Plan daily activities and setups accordingly.

    Leadership Duties

    Ensure maintenance of all storage areas and equipment handling throughout hotel areas, Food & Beverage, etc.

    Ensure maintenance of all A/V and specialty items obtained from executive office.

    Ensure that the team is staffed and schedules are made.

    Book freelance technicians and AV equipment when needed.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Minimum of 5+ years of cultural event programming, or cultural event production experience.

    Create programs to support consistent growth of membership recruitment, pipeline, process and retention.

    Able to effectively use data and analytics to make business-minded decisions.

    This person will be creatively and culturally driven to develop and foster a network to execute large-scale events.

    Collaborate and communicate well to provide direction and delegation to efficiently accomplish tasks at hand.

    Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Can maintain composure under pressure and proactively solve any available problem.

    Ability to multitask and execute under pressure in a demanding and fast-paced environment.

    Knowledge of digital tactics - such as Search Engine, Digital Asset, social media, Micro-Media Optimization, TripleSeat and Cvent.

    Strong critical thinking skills and possesses the ability to exercise sound judgment and solve problems quickly and effectively.

    An essential part of the job is being available on a flexible schedule and willing to work outside “office hours”. For example, nights, weekends, and holidays (as needed and when applicable). This may be required on a regular basis but is mandatory when needed.

    Hospitality, guest services or operations experience a plus, not a must.
