Job Description

in search of an Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. This role pertains to
those individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and maintain an
organized approach. The successful candidate will not only possess strong
technical skills but will also be able to emotionally engage with patients,
providing an exceptional customer service experience.
Deliverables
- Creation of a patient-focused environment that is welcoming and supportive.Collection of patient medical histories and chief complaints, ensuring all records are confidential and up to date.
- Performance of various diagnostic tests including auto refraction, NCT, Color Vision, VA, etc.
- Effective use and maintenance of ophthalmic equipment including a manual and automatic lensometer, autorefractor, phoropter, auto and manual keratometer, tonopen, Goldman Tonometry, and more.
- Assistance in frame and lens selection, providing educational support for patients with contact lenses.
- Provision of back-up administrative support, including data entry, faxing, copying, and preparing patient records.
Compensation - $17-$25+ / hour
Benefits include HRA, 401k with 4% match and PTO
Requirements
- Exceptional patient care skills with the ability to create a phenomenal customer service experience.
- Experience with ophthalmic diagnostic equipment and tests.
- Ability to multitask in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Suitable candidates must wear Navy Blue Scrubs as per the dress code.
Note: This position reports to the Patient Care Coordinator, the Optical
Manager, Dr. Derek Black, and Dr. Brett Bordner. This job does not come
with any supervisory responsibilities.
