    Position: Health and Nutrition Specialist/ CookThe primary responsibility of the Nutrition Specialist is to prepare healthy, nutritious meals including morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack following state licensing and the Child and Adult Food Care Program (CACFP) regulations. Additional responsibilities of the Nutrition Specialist position will include but are not limited to the following:

    Prepares and serves breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack and washes all dishes

    Assures all servings are of appropriate size in accordance with both state licensing and CACFP standards

    Keeps kitchen clean and orderly following Health Department and state licensing regulations

    Assist in classrooms/playground as needed

    Substitute in a classroom as needed

    Manage menu and suggest changes if needed

    Assures that all foods served are age appropriate

    Make changes/alterations to daily menu as needed

    Completes required paperwork including but not limited to milk calculation sheets and menu change forms

    Keeps inventory of supplies (plates, cups, napkins, paper towels, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, etc.) and orders/buys as needed

    Completes a thorough annual inventory of pantry

    Upholds all health department and state licensing standards for food preparation and cleanliness

    Upholds all CACFP standards including record keeping and meal service times

    Submits all food/supply receipts weekly

    Maintains accurate records on all child food allergies

    Other duties as assigned by director

    Experience:

    Professional Cooking: 1 year (Preferred)

    ServSafe Food Handler (Required or willingness to obtain)

    CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain

    Previous experience in childcare or closely related field

    Passionate about working with children

    Ability to build rapport with children of all ages and abilities, parents, and team-members

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
