POSITION SUMMARY

Under direction of the Executive Chef/Sous Chef, assist in the preparation and serving of a variety of food; serve food items at assigned location; maintain utensils, equipment and dietary areas in a clean and sanitary condition.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

THE FOLLOWING DUTIES ARE NORMAL FOR THIS POSITION.  THIS LIST IS NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS EXCLUSIVE OR ALL INCLUSIVE.  OTHER DUTIES MAY BE REQUIRED AND ASSIGNED.

• Provide dining service to residents, guests and family members as needed.
• Maintain or exceed standards of appearance, cleanliness, hygiene, and health standards.
• Responsible for keeping work areas clean and maintaining sanitary conditions.
• Practice all safety and loss prevention procedures.
• Monitor all food items to see that the minimum guidelines for temperature, taste and quality are upheld and recorded in the proper log book.
• Responsible for following all local, state, and federal policies regarding food handling.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY, AN INDIVIDUAL MUST BE ABLE TO PERFORM EACH ESSENTIAL DUTY SATISFACTORILY.  THE REQUIREMENTS LISTED BELOW ARE REPRESENTATIVE OF THE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED.  REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONS MAY BE MADE TO ENABLE INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES TO PERFORM THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS.

 EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:

•  Minimum of 1 year of customer service and dining experience in the hospitality industry.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• City of Plano Food Handlers certification or willingness to obtain.
