    About our Company

    We are currently seeking an experienced Hotel Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of the property. The ideal candidate is passionate about promoting a strong culture of service. He/She will have a robust background in Front Office and Housekeeping operations with some experience in Food & Beverage. We are looking for approachable, professional, creative, and enthusiastic leaders who are passionate about providing personable service and sharing their individual tastes, experiences, and styles. This role is a stepping stone into a General Manager position within the organization.

    Responsibilities

    Assist the Managing Director in planning, organizing, staffing, and directing the hotel. Accountable for hotel operations and oversight of 3rd party managed food & beverage operations.

    Maximize profits through cost and labor controls without compromising the guest experience.

    Lead and inspire a team of department heads, managers and front line staff.

    Responsible for the overall performance of hotel operations

    Ensure proper coverage, review weekly schedule with Department Heads including hiring & training

    Visit operating departments daily

    Conduct weekly staff meetings, including training sessions and review of previous and future operations efforts.

    Hold a monthly financial review with all department managers

    Ensure that all department heads maintain budgeted productivity levels and Hotel standard checkbook accounting procedures

    Develop managers for future advancement through competency training and corporate sponsored training programs.

    Assist in creating a positive team-oriented environment which focuses on the guest, through employee development and motivation

    Inspect rooms regularly (weekly at a minimum) with both the Housekeeping Manager and Property Engineer

    Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the physical property through inspections and preventive maintenance programs with department managers

    Ensure that employees are attentive, friendly, courteous and efficient in their interactions with guests, management and all other employees

    Perform all department manager performance appraisals according to hotel standard, and ensure that managers are in compliance to the standards in their administration of performance appraisals to their staff

    Motivate, coach, counsel and discipline all management personnel and ensure that managers are complying to the standards in their administration of counseling and disciplinary steps

    Perform any other duties as requested by the Managing Director

    Ensure procedures for handling of the hotel safe specifically with regards to security and monthly safe audits are followed and occur

    Professionally represent the hotel in community and industry organizations and events

    Provide constructive feedback to all departments

    Be a leader and a role model to all employees

    Competencies

    Prior hotel experience in a full-service luxury or boutique environment required.

    Prior experience leading a front office and housekeeping departments.

    Prior experience using Microsoft Office required. Must display ability to work with general computer operations.

    Must have strong communication skills both written and verbal.

    Must be organized and willing take initiative to achieve the goals of both the department and the hotel.

    Must be able to multi-task and possess the ability to recognize that the guests’ interests and needs are always primary.

    Long hours sometimes required.

    Must be able to work a flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends.

    Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.

    Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the Rooms and Food & Beverage Disciplines, including experiential knowledge for management of people and complex problems.

    Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.

    Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing nametags.

    Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.

    Must be able to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.

    Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.

    Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Must have valid driver's license for the applicable state
