Human Resources & Training Manager - The Little Nell
Job Description
Summary
The Human Resources and Training Manager’s primary responsibility is to provide training and ongoing support in the areas of Forbes Five Star standards, Leadership Development, new employee onboarding and orientation. This position is a member of the Human Resources team and will support the day-to-day operation of the department.
Essential Job Functions
• Design, develop, coordinate and facilitate all aspects of weekly Forbes Five Star departmental training
• Responsible for booking, advertising and confirming attendance at twice yearly pre-season Forbes training
• Lead internal meetings relevant to training with various stakeholders, making recommendations as needed
• Perform monthly Forbes Inspection style audits of The Little Nell, provide detailed report and debrief with department managers and General Manager following monthly inspection
• Perform quarterly skill analysis of department managers and suggest online or instructor led training to address knowledge gaps
• Work in conjunction with department managers to schedule and execute weekly Forbes training sessions and activities
• With the assistance of department managers, coordinate the monthly training calendar and tracking system for all required trainings including Internship and MIT programs
• Create seasonal Leadership Development training opportunities through instructor led, online and guest speaker training opportunities
• Manage the New Employee Orientation process to include content creation, scheduling, monitoring attendance and facilitating
• Daily participation in Human Resources department success to include onboarding, employee relations, work comp and employee recognition events
• Responsible for the Manager In Training (MIT) program to include assistance with candidate interviews and selection, rotation development, monthly check ins, supplemental training and post program placement
• Actively participates in company-wide committees and looks for opportunities to build professional relationships and synergies with all ASC departments
• In partnership with HR Managers, responsible for ongoing development and maintenance of employee recognition programs
• In partnership with HR Managers, responsible for ongoing development, maintenance and distribution of TLN/RLN policies and procedures
• Attend weekly Department Head meeting
• Perform other job related duties as assigned
The budgeted salary range for this position is $75,000-$80,000. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience, all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus
Qualifications
• BA/BS degree in a relevant field of study such as Human Resources or Business Management
• 2 years of training experience in multiple formats, including but not limited to, online, instructor-led, with varying audience sizes and levels of expertise of audience
• Ability to think critically, listen with curiosity, and make recommendations that serve the best interest of the company
• Skill and experience in delivering feedback to both direct reports and stakeholders
• Excellent customer service skills (both internal and external)
• Extensive experience in curriculum design in both instructor led training, and online/e-learning.
• Strong knowledge of computers and learning software and ability to grasp technical issues and systems
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Exceptional organizational and analytical skills with proven ability to prioritize appropriately in a fast paced environment
• Ability to work with people of all levels with professional presentation
• Ability to foster teamwork and collaboration among various departments
• Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
• Willingness and ability to accept and apply feedback
• Proven ability to make sound decisions
• Ability to manage projects with a high degree of independence
Additional Information
Supervision Given and Received
Given: This position has no supervisor responsibilities.
Received: Works under direct supervision of Director of Human Resources Hotel Operations. Tasks are assigned according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently. Instruction, advice and assistance are readily available.
Work and Physical Demands
Ability to stand, type and sit at desk/computer for most of the work shift executing repetitive movements. No adverse or hazardous conditions. Not required, but preferred to be able to occasionally lift, push or pull 25 lbs. individually or with assistance.
