    Job Description

    Summary
    The Club Manager is responsible for day-to-day operation of the AspenX Mountain Club to include the bar, restaurant, host/reservation and concierge. Is also responsible for maintaining financial profitability, service levels in regard to established standards, physical upkeep and cleanliness of the facilities and promotes positive member and guest feedback. Encourages a good morale and ensures all staff members are treated with respect and fairness. Advises Sundeck Complex General Manager of any employee issues. Responsible for hiring and training service and concierge staff.

    Essential Job Functions
    • Responsible for general operation of AMC on a day-to-day basis, including the planning and execution of special holidays and functions
    • Responsible for overseeing the overall operations and staff performance of restaurant, bar, concierge and retail
    • Responsible for upkeep and cleanliness of facilities, including the care of equipment, minimizing waste, breakage and misuse
    • Reports maintenance needs to Sundeck Complex General Manager as needed and ensures facility is secure and properly set at day’s ends
    • Maintains Avero logbook containing covers and operational issues
    • Continually trains and supervises staff in accordance with established standards
    • Ensure on going service, food, wine and spirit training occurs and tests are administered
    • Reconciles daily receipts and submits to accounting department daily
    • Reviews and edits timekeeping in Kronos and ensures expeditious submittal to Payroll at the end of each pay period including reconciliation of employee gratuities
    • Anticipates member needs and reacts to member requests to maintain guest satisfaction
    • Maintain high level of guest satisfaction, makes immediate corrective action when guests’ needs are not met
    • Oversees the wine program and assists in maintaining and updating wine lists as needed
    • Maintains buffet in set-up and throughout service with proper signage, utensils and cleanliness
    • Ensures sufficient staffing levels based on business need while managing labor budget
    • Reports inventory needs to Sundeck Complex General Manager
    • Enforces standards, procedures and policies in accordance with established SOP’s
    • Maintains and updates Info Genesis
    • Conducts daily and weekly meetings prior to service covering reservations, specials and procedure reviews
    • Communicates with Sundeck Complex Executive Chef and Club Chef de Cuisine regarding quality, timing, presentation and member/guest feedback
    • Works closely with the Sundeck Complex management, ensuring maximum efficiencies and consistency with regards to Housekeeping and Engineering issues
    • Supervisory responsibility including but not limited to, hiring, assigning and scheduling work, monitoring and controlling work, progressive discipline, budgeting, cost control, performance evaluation, wage recommendations and termination with approval of Sundeck Complex General Manager
    • Assist other departments as business volumes and staff levels demand
    • Complete tasks and projects delegated by the Sundeck Complex General Manager to assist other departments as business volumes and staff levels demand

    The budgeted salary range for this position is $80,000-$85,000. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience, all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

    • 2-3 years hotel or club experience
    • Computer experience preferred
    • Ability to foster teamwork and collaboration among various departments
    • Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
    • Proven ability to make sound decisions

    Supervision Given and Received
    Given: Exercises general supervision over AspenX Mountain Club staff. Assigns a variety of routine tasks, sets general expectations of results expected within company’s policies and procedures. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
    Received: Works under limited supervision of the Sundeck Complex General Manager. Receives guidance in terms of broad goals and overall objectives and is responsible for establishing strategical methods to attain them. Can formulate policies but does not necessarily have final authority for approval. Review of work is not detailed and emphasizes accomplishment of broad work objectives, rather than specific assignments.

    Work Environment and Physical Demands
    Ability to be on your feet, kneel and bend for extended periods of time
    Regularly work in adverse conditions and requiring the use of protective apparel/equipment to prevent exposure to the elements as well as an office environment and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
    Must be able to lift, push or pull frequently up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance
