Please note: we currently have listings for both this position and a Senior Associate, Finance & Operations. We will hire one, but not the other.

    LOOMA BACKGROUND

Looma exists to connect shoppers to the people and stories behind food & beverage products. Our first product, Loop™ At-Shelf Maker Stories, is a network of smart tablets in grocery stores that play short, human-centric films connecting producer to consumer. The data generated by Loop™ fuels our proprietary film production and optimization processes, forming a flywheel we believe will one day power the world's most sophisticated platform for human-centric point-of-decision video.

    POSITION SUMMARY

The Controller will be our first full-time role dedicated to Finance & Accounting and will therefore be responsible for nearly everything that touches F&A. Many of our current systems will not be able to support our growth over the next 12-24 months, so the first job of the Controller is to audit our existing infrastructure and build processes that scale. While the bulk of the role will be dedicated to accounting, we expect this hire to work closely with our CEO on all financing matters, particularly as we prepare for our next equity raise. This role is perfect for someone with a strong accounting background that has aspirations of one day becoming a CFO.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assume responsibility for all bookkeeping and administration of financial affairs
    • Work with CEO to oversee management of the financial model, which includes forecasting, variance analysis, etc.
    • Re-tool AP / AR processes for better scalability
    • Audit and update the F&A tech stack, also with better scalability in mind
    • Support CEO in connection with equity raises, investor relations, and cap table management

    ATTRIBUTES

    • Nothing slips through the cracks
    • Able to operate at multiple altitudes: detail-oriented enough to manage the books, but strategic enough to weigh in on big F&A decisions
    • Reasonably autonomous: we'll provide some good guardrails, but you'll mostly be setting your own agenda
    • Hustler: there's a lot that falls on F&A, and you'll need to learn much of it on the fly

    STRUCTURE & COMPENSATION

Looma will provide a competitive compensation package consisting of base salary and stock options. All Looma compensation packages include cash/equity flexibility (i.e. you can opt for more equity and less cash or vice-versa).

    BENEFITS

    • Employee coverage for health, dental, and vision (gold plan)
    • Unlimited PTO (3-week minimum)
    • 12-week primary caregiver leave
    • Flexible office setting (office, flex, or WFH, with associated stipends)
    • $100/month craftsmanship stipend

    LOOMA'S HIRING PHILOSOPHY

Looma believes culture is one of the strongest predictors of success for a startup. Strong contributors to Looma's culture will exhibit the following characteristics:

    • Humility
    • Integrity
    • Wisdom
    • Emotional Intelligence
    • Grit

    Diversity & Nondiscrimination

Looma believes diversity is a fundamental good, and we are committed to promoting diversity both in our workplace and through the stories we tell. Our global nondiscrimination policy covers these protected classes in every market in which we do business.
