You will draft briefs, create legal documents such as affidavits, do legal research for trial preparation, and maintain case files and other critical materials organized and easily accessible. We need someone with experience ordering, reviewing, and summarizing medical materials to produce a factual response to discovery. Responsibilities: • Prepare a factual response to discovery requests by ordering, reviewing, and summarizing medical records • Discuss potential lien, bill, and medical expense settlements with service providers or insurers • Create legal pleadings, communications, and documents such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits with the assistance of a lawyer • Resolve disputes without going to court by providing legal representation at family settlement meetings and mediation • Assist lawyers with trial preparation by organizing exhibits, aiding with client meetings, submitting motions, researching legal publications, and coordinating witnesses • Knowledge of Case Management Systems- Filevine, SmartAdvocate, Lawruler - a Plus • Knowledge of the Pre Litigation Process involved in Personal Injury Cases - a plus Qualifications: • Must have strong interpersonal skills and talent for writing and grammar • Candidates should possess high-level organizational skills, and time-management skills • NALA (National Association of Legal Assistants) certification program completion is strongly preferred • Must have 3-5 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer, preferably in a personal injury law firm Compensation: $22 - $25 hourly
