    Job Description

    Established Anytime Fitness franchisee (11 locations in Santa Clara, San Benito, Monterey, and Santa Cruz counties) is looking for a Human Resources Manager/ Controller to join our corporate team. Our mission is to continue rapidly expanding across the country and are looking for someone to work in tandem with the owners and Senior Management.

    Financial Controller Job Description

    The financial controller is a senior level executive position reporting that acts as head of accounting. The controller ensures that the business is operating effectively, efficiently and profitably. The controller manages all aspects of accounting and monitors internal controls. Financial Controller duties include but are not limited to:

    • Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
    • Maintains weekly, monthly, and annual budgets and tax projections
    • Sets and tracks financial metrics (KPIs)
    • Works directly with executive team developing annual strategic initiatives
    • Works directly with management team to define monthly revenue projections and project plans
    • Regularly monitors project profitability
    • Develops and updates employee compensation budget
    • Analyzes annual compensation studies
    • Submits quarterly/annual sales tax filings
    • Files annual property tax statements
    • Manages and executes insurance, license, workers compensation, permit renewals
    • Oversees accounts payable, bank account and credit card reconciliations
    • Performs bi-weekly payroll using ADP software
    • Handles purchasing for all locations

    Human Resources Manager Job Description

    The Human Resources Manager oversees employee compensation, job descriptions, quarterly/annual performance review and employee benefits. Human Resources duties include but are not limited to the following:

    • Assists with employee recruitment, selection and orientation practices, processes and policies. Participate in the interview process and employment offer when required.
    • Coordinate job postings and maintain file of job descriptions
    • Onboard new employee hires
    • Handle all employee off-boarding
    • Oversee/Coordinate Employee Training
    • Maintains employee personnel files
    • Manages and executes employee benefits
    • Staff Performance Review tracking and maintenance
    • Collaborates with managers to identify, analyze, and develop strategies to address employee relations issues. Proactively and reactively respond to employee inquiries regarding HR issues.

    • Company Liaison to EDD
    • Maintain and revise the Company Handbook on policies and procedures
    • Assure compliance with state and federal employment laws and regulations

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    • Work experience as a controller or similar role
    • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures and legislation
    • Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections and profitability
    • Work experience in a human resources role
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to multitask
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Outlook. Excel, and Power Point.
