Are you an experienced, organized program evaluator interested in a collaborative approach to program evaluation? If so, this position might be right for you. In this position, you will manage the evaluation of our professional learning (PL) programming, collaborating with the research team and educators who design and deliver PL.

The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about program evaluation, experienced in quantitative and qualitative data analysis, and skilled at cross-team collaboration. While we would love for you to join us at our new office in Portland, Oregon, this job also lends itself to remote work from your current location.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO:

    • Design and conduct program evaluation plans, including developing evaluation questions and methods and designing and regularly revising measurement tools in collaboration with the Director of Research and team members who design and deliver PL.
    • Collaborate with the research and education team members to plan and prepare for all PL survey administration, including planning appropriate survey open and close dates, designing survey appearance and functioning in software, and testing skip logic.
    • Manage data collection by communicating with MLC’s PL facilitators (e.g., sharing survey links, sending email reminders, and monitoring survey use).
    • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of PL program data.
    • Support MLC staff members who design and provide PL in reflecting on program data for purposes of professional growth and program revisions.
    • Manage the program evaluation of annual events focused on providing professional learning experiences for MLC’s facilitators and district partners.
    • Work collaboratively with the Director of Research to design overall reports and workshop-level data dashboards, including writing clear and concise report text and designing data visualizations that aid interpretation.
    • Manage permissions and access to datasets and data dashboards as appropriate with MLC’s data use policies and the stated purpose of specific data collection activities.
    • Collaborate on research projects as appropriate.

    HOW YOU ARE QUALIFIED:

    • Master’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
    • Experience managing program evaluation projects; experience with projects focused on professional learning in K-12 education settings preferred.
    • Familiarity with quantitative and qualitative research methods, including design, implementation, analysis, and reporting.
    • Experience engaging and interacting with key stakeholders, including educators, program designers, and professional learning providers.
    • Strong project management skills including the ability to effectively manage multiple projects.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience designing data visualizations is a plus.
    • Ability to plan and prioritize goals to guarantee that deadlines are met.
    • Excellent communication skills, including effectively representing MLC to individuals in other organizations.
    • Well-developed professional skills, including problem-solving, collaboration, communication, and organization.
    • Track record of reliably delivering results by demonstrating key behavioral skills, including follow-through, initiative, innovation, timeliness, and flexibility.
