    This is a great opportunity to join an established start-up (Internet of Things) and learn and grow with the organization. They need someone who can wear multiple hats and has good embedded development experience and experience integrating sensors to Raspberry Pie, Beagle Bone, Arduino platforms. Our client will move fast once they find the right candidate. This is commercial sector so no clearance is required. It's a relaxed, family-friendly, dog-friendly office (they are OK with some remote work but it does require regular onsite presence) working on a super cool product for a founder who has had success with prior startups.     Position Title: Mid-Level Embedded Engineer

    Position Type: Permanent

    Position Location: Ashburn, VA

    US Citizens or Green Card Holders (no sponsorship available)

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and integrate sensors, micro-controllers, and other integrated device systems in support of client’s multi-generational products
    • Facilitate organizational understanding and provide consultation on sensors and programmable chip sets
    • Integrate and test device drivers
    • Consult with onboard algorithms and functions to extract and manipulate data
    • Evaluate, prototype, and implement third-party parts and services as applicable to business and technical objectives
    • Provide technology direction and recommendations to the product roadmap
    • Work autonomously and within a team of internal and external contractors and partners for on-time delivery of quality code, utilizing agile methodologies
    • Contribute to project documentation and best practices process and improvement

    Skills:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field and 5+ years of direct experience in embedded systems development
    • Ability to read and review hardware schematics
    • Strong C/C++ development knowledge
    • Experience with FreeRTOS and multi-threaded architecture including timing analysis and profiling
    • Familiarity with
      • Experience with Raspberry Pie, Beagle Bone, Arduino and how to integrate sensors to those platforms
      • ARM Cortex-M4 processors
      • Texas Instruments micro-controllers e.g., Tiva, C2000
      • Linux OS and Device Drivers
      • Interprocess communications
      • CAN bus architecture
    • Experience with analog-to-digital converters
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
    • Ability to troubleshoot hardware board issues
