    Description:

    General Summary:
    The SAP Basis Administrator is responsible for the installation, upgrade, and maintenance of SAP systems. Additional responsibilities include configuring, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting the SAP technical environment, scheduling and executing the SAP transport system, design and configuration of interfaces between SAP and external systems, optimizing and analyzing performance issues, and the design architectures of the landscape.

    Duties and responsibilities:
    • Install, upgrade, and maintain the database and SAP application systems.
    • Plan and install support packs, conduct upgrades, manage backups/recovery, system refresh and troubleshooting, as well as conducting failover testing and validation.
    • Assess and implement recommended enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the systems.
    • Develop, manage, and test the storage, archiving, back-up and recovery procedures.
    • Proactively monitor systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime.
    • Monitor, analyze, identify and respond to trends in system performance and resource utilization within the SAP technology stack, work with the required teams to identify database, hardware and network failure scenarios, determine root cause and assist in resolution of issues.
    • Install and test new versions of the SAP application and database software.
    • Serve as a resource to IT Business Analysts, customers, and ABAP Developers in designing, configuring and implementing an SAP system supporting business and operational needs.
    • Document problems with external support personnel, communicate with developers, help desk, and other support personnel to resolve system issues.
    • Prepare regular status reports and performance metrics for consolidated status reports.
