PROFILE  

As with other positions within this ministry, the Junior Graphic Designer is known for their strong Christian character and is considered to be a Minister of the Gospel. This person sets an example for believers and non-believers and lives a life that is above reproach. This person abides by the rules and policies in the Employee Handbook. PRIMARY FUNCTION 

The Junior Graphic Designer (JGD) primarily develops and executes multi-regional digital and print marketing material efforts under the direction of the Media Storyteller. The JGD provides support and input for multi-regional marketing strategies consistently and as needed. KEY RESULT AREAS

SUPPORT SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT CREATION:

• Provides visual design support for Social Media Content Creator.
• Using app-specific standards, creates and edits high-quality layouts as needed in Photoshop, InDesign or Adobe Rush to build social media content.
• Initiates seasonal campaign ideas.
• Conceptualizes new creative ideas and supports strategy and content scheduling of all social content.

DIGITAL AND PRINT MARKETING DELIVERABLES:

• Develops and executes creative marketing concepts that drive multi-regional digital production that includes but is not limited to website layouts and online content design management, digital banners, and advertisements.
• Develops and executes creative marketing concepts that drive multi-regional print production that includes but is not limited to flyers, posters, pamphlets, book designs, program signage, event mapping, direct and email marketing, and packaging design.
• Develops and executes Annual Report deliverables in a timely manner.
• Develops and executes all creative multi-regional program advertising plans
• Works closely with Mentoring Alliance programs teams (After School, Summer Camps, and Mentor Connect) to provide all marketing design deliverables under the direction of the Media Storyteller.
• Acts as a project manager for contracted deliverables — this could include but is not limited to digital animators, app developers, printing and packaging houses, signage vendors, website developers, and podcast producers.

OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED BY SUPERVISOR AND/OR VP OF MARKETING & DEVELOPMENT:

• Any other duties to serve the ministry as assigned by the President or supervisor.
• Serve on appropriate committees; attend staff meetings, board meetings, and other staff functions. 
• Strengthen teamwork, collaboration, alignment, morale, transparency, credibility, and trust throughout the ministry.
• Fulfill necessary tasks, projects, or roles as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• A degree in graphic design preferred
• High-quality portfolio of 1-2 years of experience in a variety of digital and print graphic design
• 1+ years of experience in social media content creation and strategy (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Hootsuite)
• Working knowledge of prepress and print production standards
• Hand-sketching and basic drawing skills
• Some motion graphics animation experience preferred
• Clear communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and rapidly shift priorities as needed
• An all-in attitude and the ability to receive constructive criticism
