    DIGITAL ADVERTISING INTERN

    Founded by Obama for America 2012 campaign manager & former Obama White House Deputy Chief of Staff Jim Messina and led by seasoned strategists, The Messina Group is a full-service consulting firm that works with organizations in the private, public, and social sectors to achieve their strategic goals and build movements and products that succeed by being data-driven, digitally savvy, and grassroots-focused.

    The Messina Group is looking for a Digital Advertising Intern to join our team to help create and execute results-driven online advertising campaigns for our progressive international political and responsible corporate clients. This internship is an excellent opportunity for a student majoring in a digital media-related field, or a recent graduate looking to further develop marketable skills in digital strategy and advertising. This internship can be fully remote, or if interns are located in Washington, DC, there is an option for a hybrid in-office/remote schedule.

    The ideal candidate will have an eagerness and openness to learn digital platforms like Facebook or Google and an understanding of basic KPIs for digital campaigns. This position reports to the Project Associate and the Deputy Digital Director and will work closely with the Digital Team and various TMG staff.

    ABOUT YOU: 

    • Tech-savvy self-starter who’s knowledgeable in the world of digital and social media, with a keen interest in organic and paid strategies.
    • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, across all organizational levels.
    • Intrinsically motivated person.
    • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage projects independently and comply with given deadlines.
    • A team player who’s not afraid to ask for help and guidance when you need it.

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Write copy and work with the team to produce online ad collateral and website assets.
    • Draft social media and digital ad content for platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
    • Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop campaign concepts.
    • Help pull and prepare analytics reports (and reports in general) for our clients.
    • Communicate with media vendors about proposals and pricing.
    • Conduct research on lawsuits to support our work in the legal media sector.
    • Track the distribution of news clips for the office and clients; and
    • Other tasks and duties that may be assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • Previous digital experience either through a digital internship or relevant experience such as managing social content for a college organization.  
    • Enrolled in undergrad or graduate studies of Digital Media, Advertising, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
    • Passion for the digital space and a deep understanding of digital trends and technologies.
