    The Messina Group (TMG) is a full-service consulting firm founded by Obama for America 2012 campaign manager & former Obama White House Deputy Chief of Staff Jim Messina and led by seasoned strategists. No two days are ever the same at TMG.

    We are looking for a Project Associate to join our team. The right person for this role will be a go-getter, a rising star, and a political junkie who will work directly with our Partners as their right hand on a range of projects.

    This position reports to the Chief of Staff and will work to support the TMG partners. This position is located in Washington, DC, and we require this employee to come into our Dupont Circle office Monday through Thursday (option to work remote on Friday).

    ** Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:**

    • Support partner-level staff on their projects and client deliverables, including but not limited to creating, researching, and formatting slide presentations, and preparing, researching, and editing memos for staff and/or clients;
    • Manage operational needs for partner-level staff such as scheduling, hosting in-office meetings, and administrative tasks;
    • Assist in general office operations and administrative tasks as needed;
    • Assist in planning the company’s bi-annual off-site retreats and other company events; and
    • Work with the Chief of Staff to assist with executive support as needed.

    ** Preference will be given to candidates with these professional traits and skills:**

    • One+ years of related experience. Internship experience considered;
    • Experience and interest in politics, government, and policy;
    • Demonstrated experience in research, writing memos, and building slide presentations, with a proven ability to prioritize and handle competing priorities;
    • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with varying levels of staff;
    • Highly organized and detail-oriented problem solving skills with experience taking initiative;
    • Self-starter who is able to exceed expectations with little direction and do so with creativity; and,
    • Quick-learning and smart-working candidates who genuinely thrive in a fast-paced/rapid-response environment.

    • Salary range: $55,000 - $65,000 USD commensurate with experience, plus a discretionary bonus;
