We are currently seeking a motivated JUNIOR QUALITY ASSURANCE ENGINEER that is looking to establish themselves within a company that values fostering continued career growth. This position will work in Metro Group’s Information Systems Department, supporting day to day use of internal programs while exercising their technical problem-solving skills. The successful candidate should be a dynamic professional with a “can do attitude” able to adapt and manage a wide range of technical support situations and responsibilities.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO):
Facilitate day to day use of internal systems to ensure company employees can operate at maximum efficiency.
Respond to inquiries regarding the use of internal software suite.
Act as liaison between business units and Information Systems team.
Produce software training documentation and content.
Provide ongoing user training and support for all new software features rolled out by the development team.
Validate customer bug reports and escalate issues to proper internal development team.
Conduct quality assurance testing on all newly developed software before its released to end users.
Enhance collaboration and testing between business units and development team.
Suggest software enhancements based on user feedback and pain points.
Support the development of testing plans and implementation of testing automation for all software.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree, equivalent work experience, or equivalent training from four-year College or technical school, preferably in Information Systems, Business Information Systems, Computer Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
Basic knowledge web software and its SDLC.
Excellent customer service experience
Basic knowledge of T-SQL/Microsoft SQL Server
PREFERRED SKILLS (PLUS BUT NOT REQUIRED; WILL TRAIN THE RIGHT PERSON):
Web Programming experience w/ HTML, CSS, JS
Macros and VBA proficiency.
Prior QA experience.
Prior testing/test automation experience.
Prior knowledge of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
