Job Description

The Morning Star Company is searching for a well-rounded, journeyman level mechanic to take ownership of our fiber drum manufacturing. Experience with fiber drum manufacturing is a plus, but not required.

THE MISSION AND POSITION

This Colleague’s Mission will be to ensure the peak performance and operation of our drum and bin manufacturing equipment. 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES

• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair mechanical components. 
• Troubleshoot electrical components (3 phase 480 volt to 12 volt DC).
• Troubleshoot PLCs (some knowledge of automation is necessary, but not programming).
• Fabrication
• Welding (Mig and Tig).
• Possible procurement and control of materials inventory.

COMPENSATION

Salary and benefits are quite good and certainly competitive (DOE).  The position is based in Los Banos, California.

KNOWLEDGE, TALENT AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• • Excellent mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities. 
    • Willing to work long hours and weekends during season.
    • Excellent listening and communications skill, written and oral.
    • Excellent analytical skill.
    • Substantial expertise with Excel, Word and other related applications.
    • Patient, but persistent in getting results.
    • Self-driven.
    • Own and maintain professional tool set
